Diagnosed with inoperable non-small cell lung cancer, adenocarcionom, stage IV, in June 2009. Never smoked, 39 years old, married, mother of a boy born in October 2007.

Update:
July-Oct 2009: Chemo Gemzar/Carboplatin,
6-16 Nov 2009: Tarceva 150mg
since 1 Dec 2009: Tarceva 100mg, still going strong, feeling very well (dec 2010)
April 2010: Stereo-tactic radiation of main tumor
Sept 2010: Bronchoscopy on left lung to take tissue
Oct 2010: bronchoscopy reveals no active cancer-cells - main tumor is dead
Jan 2011: Pet/CT shows "no active cancer disease" - NED!
Aug 2011: CT still shows NED (still on Tarceva 100mg)
Feb 2012: PET/CT; PET still shows NED, CT-part reveals a tiny nodule of 3mm. "Waiting-time" - a new CT is scheduled for early April. Still on Tarceva 100mg.
April 2012: CT showes three tiny nodules, between 3-5 mm. A re-view of scan from February also shows three nodules.
May 2012: After a few weeks, the treatment team decides to put in systemic treatment as well; Alimta/Carboplatin along the continued Tarceva of 100 mg.
June 2012: CT after two cycles - stable, no change.
August 2012: CT after four cycles - stable, no change. Still three nodules around 5 mm. Alimta/Carboplatin is discontinued, still on Tarceva. Request for SBRT is finally denied by the radiologist, as the nodules are too tiny to visualize during the treatment session. Wait and watch - new CT scheduled for October.
October 2012: still stable on Tarceva 100 mg, next check-up in December |
