AJS2001
AJS2001, is a recombinant lentiviral vector derived from human immunodeficient virus type 1 (HIV-1). The AJS2001 genome contains gene promoters that ensure the expression of transgene products specifically in tumor cells, while keeping normal cells the same. Through the infection of human cells, AJS2001 produces short hairpin RNA against Cdc6 mRNA (Cdc6 shRNA) in cancerous cells. Cdc6 depletion through the use of Cdc6 siRNAs has been shown to induce apoptosis in human hepatocarcinoma cell lines and cervical carcinoma HeLa cells.
