4 years still taking Iressa

Hi All,

I haven't written for quite some time but thought my current status would help all with their battle. My condition has been 'stable' now for almost 4 years thanks to excellent medical care and Iressa. Started taking Iressa in 2003. Aside from the 'normal' side-effects, I've been able to stay on my daily dose without too much difficulty. Wondered if anyone else has been taking Iressa this long and what has been thier overall experience.

Age 60, quit smoking over 12 years ago.
DX'd nsclc adenocarcinoma 8/01
left upper lobe removed 9/01. Stage I Cured?
Recurrance, multiple tumors in left lung - 1 in right lung. 11/02 Stage IV!
Chemo-Carboplatin/Gemizar 8 sessions - finished 8/03
Currently on Iressa (since 9/03)
Still on Iressa until it stops working (2/05)
Iressa still working after 4 years (3/07)

wa o~ however she did not state his status before taking Irressa. Dont know if he had fully responce to chemo already...

能坚持服用四年还有效，确实令人欣慰。

但我担心过久服用，会影响肺部的自身机能，或者造成器官衰竭的副作用。能帮我解惑吗？

署名下面的一句“Chemo-Carboplatin/Gemizar 8 sessions - finished 8/03”，是指截止于2003年8月，共做了八个疗程的化疗...... 对吗？我还不知道“Chemo-Carboplatin/Gemizar”是什么？是化疗的药物吗？
